SLO Committee Meeting SummaryProgram ReviewThe committee reviewed plans to move program review to a staggered five-year cycle, with approximately 20 programs reviewed annually. Program review forms are being simplified. SLO questions will remain to document how assessment results inform curriculum changes and departmental improvements.
Administrative and Student Services OutcomesAdministrative units will use goals to assess continuous improvement rather than maintain separate Administrative Unit Outcomes (AUOs). Student Services areas may retain Student Services Learning Outcomes (SSLOs), as appropriate.
Insights and Data IntegrationThe committee discussed a proposed data integration process connecting Insights to the Data Lake and then to Precision Campus to support SLO reporting and demographic analysis. Integration details and the implementation timeline remain unresolved. Mallory will discuss the project with District Institutional Research.Feedback from the summer pilot indicated that conducting assessments through Canvas rubrics was straightforward. Members expressed support for gradual adoption, with review through COOL and the Academic Senate. A two-year extension was suggested; no final contract decision was made.
Syllabi and CurriculumThe committee emphasized that SLOs listed on syllabi should match those in the approved Course Outline of Record, noting prior accreditation concerns regarding discrepancies. Deans should collect syllabi quarterly and verify that SLOs are included.Members also discussed an accessible syllabus template and improvements to the syllabus collection process. Changes to SLOs should proceed through the curriculum approval process. Courses may be reviewed before the end of the five-year review cycle. The potential for automated transfer of SLOs from Coursedog remains unresolved.
SLO UpdatesMary reported that the 2025–26 assessment summaries are current. She plans to update division-level course and program outcomes for 2026–27.
