Overview of College, Majors, and Career Options
Course Description
This course is an introduction to De Anza College that includes information about programs, services, policies, transfer requirements, college culture, majors, degrees, and certificates. Students will focus on strategies needed for academic success and the development of a preliminary Comprehensive Educational Plan based on their perceived career/major. Students will examine how individual, family, social, and cultural perspectives influence the college major and career decision-making process. The course will review college majors and career myths, the introduction of various career resources, the purpose and structure of higher education, and organizational structures found in employment settings.
